Why track your links?
Tracking links exist to answer one question at the end of the month: which campaign, ad, creative or channel actually worked. The link is just what makes that answer possible, or not.
Most UTM problems are not tool problems, they are consistency problems. Facebook and facebook
become two different sources in your reports. A campaign named campaign1 means nothing three
months later. Spaces and punctuation quietly split one campaign into several. None of this looks
broken when you paste the link - it surfaces later, in a report, usually to someone who was not
the person doing the tagging.
